Waiting for Spring One Shot Wednesday

You appear so still
little movement
nothing crawls

Even in the deadest day
winter life is alive
underneath it all

Rushing waters
held in place
since snows late last fall

Tiniest seeds
ready to burrow
opening up big and tall

I will hear
 the sounds of life
as beauty and spring calls

thanks to the people at One Shot Wednesday for another  week of poetry.

Caught in a Crack ( Flash Fiction)

I heard you clearly the night we met
Those 4 inch heels hard to forget
They caught in a crack lucky for me
Fortunately my arms were free
We danced and swayed in the act of love
Always another step we hadn’t thought of
Why am I hearing retreating step
We haven’t loved enough yet

The perfect asset (Friday Flash Fiction)

She sauntered with confidence into the interview
perfect hair, perfect teeth, perfect...
She knew she would land the job
Her interviewer was a man after all
She slipped one stilettoed heel off
as he had his eyes on her...
while she…
No need to think with his head
he knew she'd be the perfect asset

An Adventure - Friday Flash Fiction

"He was quite the adventurer."
 they had always said.
He had traversed the Serengeti and wasn't found dead
in some cockroach hotel in Khadhir.
Then when she came near
why did his heart pound.
Trepidation of women he had never found
himself in this world
 where his heart unfurled
just begging to explore her topography.

I Hate This for One Shot Wednesday

You say you love me
then what is she?
only your brightest rays

You say you need me
too busy with her
you don't talk to me for days

I say I love you
but trying to think
of the heart  I've mislaid

I say just leave me
my pain  more comforting
than weak love's display

The End of ... (Sunday 160)

She looks in his eyes-
"Darling will this be the end?
I can't bare the thought.
Why can't we turn back the time
and start over?
We should have won the championship."

Frozen Frame - Friday Flash Fiction

Bereft -It was going to be a lonely night
his wife was gone to Florida to see her mom
she would be gone for weeks

Wait hold that frame rewind
the beers were in the fridge
the guys were coming
and you never knew what or who might pop up
three weeks to
P-A -R-T-Y

This is my first attempt at flash fiction.
